Noise and distraction can make it very difficult to find the space which allows us to move towards our peaceful centre, which is where we really discover who we are.

The practice of silent meditation is a way of learning to unburden the cluttered mind, thereby enabling a sense of simply being. There are many teachings on how to meditate including repeating a mantra and focusing on the in and the out breaths. Although there are a few general rules there is no right technique. Ultimately all methods can lead to self knowledge, oneness and unity of self.

As part of the World Community for Christian Meditation (see www.wccm.org) I lead a local meditation group which meets on Tuesdays at 11.45am in the Victoria Room, Ruyton X1 Towns, Shropshire to which those of all faiths or none are welcome.

If you would like to find out more about joining a group or to talk about meditation please contact me.
